Wedding Wednesday’s Blog Topic: Gifts for the Groom

As my other half and I were driving around on Sunday, we were talking about glassware. (Yes, I know we’re on the strange end of the spectrum!) But Chris had brought up the fact that his friend had received Tiffany & Co. old-fashioned glasses for his college graduation. After that item just happened to be mentioned, I looked over and was surprised that I saw that same look I make when I look at Louis Vuitton handbag section in Nordstroms… Want.

It occurred to me that typically boys buy jewelry while dating and then go out and buy engagement rings. Most, if not all, of these guys that we’re close to marrying get us things that we “want”, but never exclaim that they may “want” something in turn.

I always try and keep things equal with him- but we always never seem to balance out. When I think about it: he’s put up with my mood swings (which can sometimes be torrential), he smiles through all the countless work events I drag him to- while he’s in a suit, and then comes to my rescue when I have an issue with my car. Listen, he may drive me crazy sometimes, but, he’s given me practically everything and anything I want/need, if he wants these crazy expensive cups, why the heck not?!

So when my mind goes, “He wants Tiffany & Co. old-fashioned glasses - is he insane?!” I just need to smile and say, “We’ll see, hun.” Then plant the seed in the back of my mind, for when we have our big day!

So think of your man, or even keep this in mind for future reference!

Remember, happy husband = happy wife = happy life!
